Food: Yoogane

My sisters and I went to the soft opening of Yoogane at the ground floor of Il Terrazo a couple of weekends ago. It was a new restaurant in Morato, and we decided to try something new. Yoogane is a Korean brand that boasts about their chicken galbi cooked on a smokeless grill.

They placed this outside the restaurant. It was our first time to hear about dak galbi, and we were curious. We had to taste it.

The Yoogane wall of thank yous.

The walls have graffiti art. They reminded me of my old agency office.

Here's another one up close.

We sat at a booth, and checked out their menu.

While we were trying to order, I noticed some of the details in the restaurant.

They had copper exhaust tubes at each grill station, but I guess some were not working. It was a tad bit smoky at another table at one point.

After we ordered, they served us Korean banchan. I was used to a lot of banchan -- about 6 or 7, including jap chae. Despite the number of banchan they served, I loved each one.

We are superfans of jap chae, so of course we had to order it. Easiest thing to make. Get my recipe here.

My sister wanted to try the korean kimchi pancake. It was good and not too spicy.

Our waiter cooked the dak galbi in front of us. We had it topped with mushrooms and cheese. Yummy yummy yummy!

They gave us complimentary Yakult bottles to top off our dining experience.
