Family: Going Home

I have a confession.

My husband and I made a big decision to move back to the other side of the world and be near our families. You see, we lived in the US for post-graduate studies and work. The last few weeks were endless nights of putting our stuff in luggages and moving boxes. I swear it seemed forever. It was challenging my Tetris prowess. Wait, do you remember that game? Filling each box was like playing a Tetris game. At first, it was rewarding... fitting tons of clothes and thingamajigs into one box was awesome...like winning a Tetris game. But 37 times with a newborn (not crying but needing care) in the background?! It was tiring.

No, my baby does not NOT cry. She does when she's starving or when she gets her shots. She just makes sounds. She's a sound machine. I guess we are lucky she's low-maintenance. In fact, other people tell us, baby A makes them want their own baby.

Where exactly is home?

See this map?

Atlanta is on the left, and we traveled all the way to the right part of the map.

It was a day's worth of plane rides. We even spent a night in San Francisco just so we can rest. The plane ride traverses the Pacific so we passed by California. Since we had a lot of extra baggage, we took a stretch limo to the hotel. Haha!

Oh, and for those of you who find the map above cute, I saw it in L'Affiche Moderne. I find the French version "Tour du Monde" cooler. But yes, they do have an English version too.

Love: Momiji

I previously posted about Kimmidolls here. Aren't they cute?

I found this novelty store somewhere in Little Five Points in Atlanta that sold these kokeshi Japanese dolls under a different brand - Momiji. Hmmm, isn't that coincidental (Mommy G = Momiji). Anyway, I bought one for my daughter... a doll which means "Lucky".

Love: Book Crush

I am in love.

With these books.

For the longest time.

Penguin Classics

I first saw them at Anthropologie a couple of years back. I probably won't read them, but I want them on the bookshelf or the console. They just look amazing together.

Coralie Bickford-Smith designed these covers and she did an awesome job. These are the classics reinvented. The covers are made from embossed canvas... no dust jackets. Beautiful.

She also did the design on this series, and played with black and white on metallics.

Here's another remake of the classics. This time by White's Fine Edition Books.

Look at how cheerful the colors of these Puffin Classics are. They're for kids.

I am on the hunt. Soon, you'll all be mine.

Fashion: Target Clothes

Hi readers. I am kinda back. I will try my best to post as often as possible, but I'm not sure if I can do it everyday. It's been a bit more than two months since I gave birth to my lovely little girl.

My fave store in the whole wide world, Tar-jay, launched a designer series of their GO International fashion line featuring world-renowned fashion designers such as Rodarte and Zac Posen. The line currently carries a limited number of women's dresses that are well-priced.

I got a Rodarte dress for less than $50. No, it still doesn't fit perfectly post pregnancy. But I bought it anyway. It's going to be my target size (no pun intended).

For the summer, Calypso St. Barth teamed up with Target for a bunch of cutesy stuff. It's like a mommy-and-me collection. I usually get a little over-the-top when it comes to baby/toddler clothes. I got Baby A different pieces in a variety of sizes so I can enjoy seeing her with CSB's cuteness.

Adorable. Absolutely adorable.
