Love: Baby Soft Skin

Whenever I hold my baby, it never ceases to amaze me how smooth and soft her skin is. It makes me just want to cuddle and hug her all the time. I know every mom would want to have that baby soft skin. I know I would.

About a couple of years ago, my hands got crazily dry that my palms really stung. I blamed it on harsh weather, house chores and my procrastination to moisturize after washing my hands. I decided then to moisturize my hands every day. This lasted until I had Allie and I became busier. Don't get me wrong. I love spending time with my daughter. I just find myself in the midst of changing diapers, doing house chores, and managing our businesses every time.

A few weeks ago, I got an invitation for a hand spa treat for moms at Johnson's Baby Milk Mom’s Nourishing Spa event. Being a loyal fan of Johnson's baby products, I figured it was a great idea to attend.

I met Gwen (who did the PR), Frances (Topaz Horizon/Topaz Mommy) and baby Iñigo too!

I always keep Johnson's baby products in my bathroom. Once, I ran empty on hand soap, so I used Allie’s Johnson’s Baby Milk Bath to wash my hands. But I was hesitant to use it because I was one of those people who use hand soap for the hands, and body wash for the body. Now, it all seemed so silly. They're all soap anyway. Hah! I read somewhere that it’s the rubbing of your hands while washing that gets rid of germs.

During the event, there was this cute spa area where they let me wash my hands using Johnson's Baby Milk Bath. Then, midwives (yes, midwives) massaged my hands and forearms with Johnson's Baby Milk Lotion. The lotion smelled so wonderful, and more importantly, my hands felt so smooth, soft and not greasy at all. I really should pamper my hands every time.

You know, I've always heard stories of Cleopatra using milk bath to make her skin smooth. Most probably you’ve heard that story as well. It all makes sense now. Milk has proteins that reduce dead skin cells on your body. Similarly, Johnson's Baby Milk Bath and Johnson's Baby Milk Lotion both have natural milk proteins that do this too, and they have vitamins A & E to help nourish and moisturize the skin.

Chef Rosebud Benitez, celebrity chef / Quickfire host, was also there to demonstrate simple recipes that help you get healthy, smoother skin.

While we were there, she made this tuna salad topped with mango slices. It's just a mix of lettuce, tuna flakes, mango and cucumber slices, and lemon juice. Lettuce leaves and mangoes are rich in vitamin A that helps in skin revitalization. Tuna flakes have a kind of protein that makes your skin smooth and tight. Cucumber and lemon are good vitamin C sources that aid in skin elasticity.

They served good skin food during the event like almonds and yogurt.

You know what else does this? Chocolate. I know you're all excited to buy chocolates now because you can tell your significant others that it's actually good for the skin. Chocolate has this thing called flavonoids and these give your skin protection from sun damage. Galing ng reason noh? Wala na silang masasabi dyan!

Yogurt is another skin food. It has zinc that keeps your skin blemish-free. Hmm, take me to Pinkberry or Red Mango. Now na!

Well, I'm sold. So, my fellow supermommies, don't you think that it’s time for us to take care of our own skin like how we take care of our babies’?

Since I have Johnson's Baby Milk Bath to bathe Allie, I might as well start using it myself, and use Johnson's Baby Milk Lotion too, so I can have softer and smoother skin. I can also save space in my shower area and precious countertop space, because I will be sharing stuff with Allie. I don't need to waste time in the supermarket deciding on which body wash / lotion I'm going to buy. I'll just spend it at the chocolate aisle figuring out which dark chocolate bar I'm getting next.
